Methodology and sources
TickerLandia is a free site for exploring listed companies around the world: price, key figures, financial results, news and company profile, in one place. This page explains where the data comes from and how to read it.
Data sources
We combine several kinds of public and licensed information:
- Prices and market data: closing prices published by stock exchanges, collected through market data providers.
- Financial results: income statements, balance sheets and cash flows taken from company filings (for example SEC filings for US companies) and from financial data providers.
- Exchange rates: reference rates published by the European Central Bank.
- Company profiles: descriptions, sector, headquarters and other facts from public company information.
- News: headlines with a link to the original publisher. We do not republish articles: to read them you go to the publisher's site.
Update frequency
Prices are end-of-day closing prices, not real-time quotes. We check for new closes several times a day, so a stock's price is updated shortly after its exchange closes. The date of the close is always shown next to the price.
Financial results, key figures and profiles are updated when new data becomes available, usually after a company publishes its results.
How the figures are calculated
- Daily change: last close compared with the previous close, in percent and in the listing currency.
- Performance: change in the closing price over the selected period (one week, one month, six months, one year, five years).
- 52-week range: lowest and highest close of the last twelve months, and where the current price sits between them.
- Market capitalisation, P/E and the other valuation ratios: computed from the latest price and the most recent available results (TTM means the last twelve months).
- Analysts: consensus rating and price targets as published by data providers. They are third-party opinions, not ours.
- Currencies: prices are shown in the currency of the listing; financial statements in the currency the company reports in.
Sectors and markets
Every company is assigned to one of nine broad sectors, derived from the industry classifications used by data providers, so that similar companies are easy to compare. The market is the country of the stock exchange where the shares are listed. A company listed on several exchanges may appear more than once, one page for each listing.
Limits
Despite our checks, data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and not every company has every piece of information. Company descriptions are currently available in English only. TickerLandia is for information only and is not financial advice: see the legal notice.
